District 11’s Spring Luncheon and Award of Distinction Presentation

Jun 04, 2024

On May 30, one hundred fifty members of District 11 met at Golf’s Steakhouse for lunch, a bit of business, and the presentation of the Award of Distinction to Brian Heggie.  We learned about Brian’s great commitment to the region, being a volunteer in Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge.  He has also worked with Senior Advocacy, concerned with aging and health issues in the community.  Brian was on the District 11 Board of Directors, serving as President twice and Past president.  Without Brian, our District may not have had a printed newsletter, as he was instrumental in directing, publishing and distributing the document.  District 11 is proud to be able to present the Award of Distinction to such a deserving recipient.

Members kindly donated gift cards, worth over $1500, to four charities in the region, to help provide food for those who need it

President, Terry Hamilton, addressed the members.

Many members brought memorabilia from past trips to talk about during travel sharing time.

Great food choice, butter chicken.

The vegetarian lasagna was also a hit.

John Swatridge, our speaker, told stories of his travels so that members could reflect on their own travel, and learn from his experiences.

District 11 Directors volunteered their time to make the luncheon run smoothly.
