Cyber Security Concern – WRDSB

Aug 17, 2022

In July 2022, The WRDSB experienced a security breach of current and former employees. Personal information, including social insurance numbers, and banking information has been breached. The board is providing one year of complimentary credit monitoring by myTrueIdentity from TransUnion in response to this breach of confidential information. Registering for credit monitoring with TransUnion is a good way to ensure that no unaccounted activity occurs within your important records.

Retired education workers with the WRDSB are encouraged to contact TransUnion at 1-833-806-1882 and register. You will be asked for your former employee number, or your address.  Once confirmed, you will receive a unique, personal Activation Code to complete an online registration.

Once you have registered with TransUnion it is suggested that you:

  1. Change all passwords related to security, this would include banking access and email.
  2. Check online bank accounts weekly at a minimum just to make sure no unauthorized transactions hit their bank accounts.  This would include all registered credit cards
